Miss Frou is the new BFF. We have a penchant for bursting out into song when then occasion calls for it. And the occasion often calls for it. Tonight, at a favourite watering-hole in Holland Village, we burst into our anthem. Only thing is that we didn’t really know the words and the cacophony of warbling voices was appalling. We are loud. And obnoxious. I think it’s a sign when strangers start to join in our Singapore Idol wannabee singing and offer us the lyrics.
Miss Frou: Eh, why are people looking at us?
Me: Because we are idiots?
Miss Frou: Ah. We very loud meh?
Us (in unison): BECAUSE OF YOU… I never stray too far from the sidewalk…

We gave the band (think it was S and the UnXpected) a run for their money. I do apologise to our obligatory male company for traumatizing him. I think we grew on him though – he started singing as well… At least he knows who to call when he embarks on his adaptation of 1984. Miss Frou, it’s 1984 and NOT 1985.

When I become a star like Kelly Clarkson (after starring in the lead role for 19 EIGHTY FOUR and getting 'discovered' by Mediacorp), you will be plenty glad that you decided to be my fifth friend today:)
But for now, we just have to sing until people pay us to shut up...
